Electricity

The District gets poor supply of electricity, despite the fact that 66 % (1197.50 Mega watts) of the entire production of electricity in the State of 1812.9 Mega watts, is produced in 8 Electricity Projects located in the District. The major producer being from Idukki with 780 Mega watts. Out of 3.5 lakhs houses only 25,603 houses (35.8%) have only been electrified as against the State average of 46%.
